gene genie

the news from the hospital up the road isn’t good. Gene not only has a broken neck of femur, he also has two cracked ribs and suspected pneumonia. hopefully he won’t contract this as well. anyway, it looks like he’s going to be out of action for quite some time but whether or not it teaches him to keep his pants on is another story

he may require a little more help when he returns to us so yesterday I flicked through my catalogues looking for the latest developments in support underwear and I think I’ve found just the thing…..

is it my imagination or does that model on the right look like Prince Phillip?

  1. Hey, a guy’s gotta make a living. Liz keeps him on a tight leash, cash-wise.

  2. naw, that’s not prince philip! it’s prince fillup, last seen at a petrol station around the corner from the gimcrack.

  3. Garment top left looks very appealing. It would appear to have easy access and suitability for sit down wees. My, us chaps are an attractive bunch.

  4. well they are from the House of Spencer. wasn’t that Princess Diana’s mob? I’m inclined to go with Raincoaster on this one.

there are some even more attractive photos on the instruction page where one learns “How To Control, Outline and Measure a Man”

I’ve got the outlining and measuring down pat….

  5. I concur with th enurse. The middle one bears a resemblance to the young Mountbatten, while the upper left should have sentimental appeal to the good nurse since he shows some commonality with New Zealander and RAF Vice Air Marshal Keith Park.

Go look it up. I’m feeling too damned obscure this morning >B^|D>

  6. Very stylish and yet practical undergarments.

I fail to see how this will “support” a femur neck fracture except perhaps mind over matter?

    Great find!

  7. Ahhh – On the girls of my youth, they were the old passion killers. I remember them well. Almost destroyed my bellief that I could get into any pair of pants.

  8. Yes, Archie…but could you get into theirs?

    ::yipe!::

when I was about 3, I had pigeon toes. my parents took me to a doc who strapped me into one of those Forrest Gump brace contraptions with the special shoes? it was horrid!

after a few months of hair-pulling tantrums trying to get me to wear the thing on a daily basis, she threw the brace away and enrolled me in ballet classes ;-)

  10. I guess it must be pretty comfy, they’re all smiling.

  11. FFF: I like a man who concurs with the nurse. Hadn’t heard of Keith Park before but I do have Douglas Bader’s autograph

Doctor Mom: I was thinking more along the lines of strapping it over a pair of hip protectors. plus they look like a much needed impediment to dangerous intercourse. we have a duty of care you see :-)

Archie and Andrew: I’ll leave those comments for you two to sort out between yourselves

Alice: I was born with a dislocated hip which was not detected until I was almost 2. the contraption I was plastered into was pretty barbaric but being forced to join “The Crippled Children’s Society” was even worse. but hey I got to do ballet too!

Lizza: I don’t want to know why they’re smiling but I suspect it’s nothing to do with the corsets

  12. Ah– nurses are incredibly ingenious, innovative, and imaginative, aren’t we?

    Great work NurseMyra!

  13. yes my imagination does get me into trouble but all these stories are 97% true.

circumventing that confidentiality clause is the imaginative part

  14. Looks like you’ve trumped me again, ma’am. Tin legs beats a Kiwi in this poker game . . . .

  15. @ADG, With a touch of poetry, a bottle of Mateus and a fairly glib tongue, I had few problems – - -

    I was an evil teenager!

  16. FFF: I knew I had the cards this time

Archie: Mateus? classy! in my day the boys used blackberry nip or porphyry pearl

  17. I’m still trying to figure out why Archie made his teenage girlfriends wear boy’s underwear to bed.

  18. best to let sleeping dogs lie raincoaster. there’s a lot about Archie that we really don’t want to figure out
