start spreadin’ the news…..

….. I’m leavin’ today.

Yes, my much anticipated trip to New York starts today. Daisyfae and I will be hanging out in the Big Apple for a week or so, hoping to catch up with unbearablebanishment, alonewithcats, shrinkrap and renalfailure whilst eating and drinking our way around Manhattan.

There may be an occasional joint blog post like we the one in Seville in 2008

or the one we did in Lesbos  in 2010 with the lovely Dolce

Then it’s on to Chicago – a city I’ve never been to before. Hopefully that’s when we’ll catch up with Rassles. If you’ve got any tips on things we really should see or do while there, leave them in the comments. See you all soon.

    Safe trip, lovely Nursie.

  2. Send me a postcard. Bon voyage :)

  3. Kewlness indeed. Enjoy your visit to the States, and try not to get sucked into all the tourist traps that leave you empty and broke.

  4. With you in spirit. Happy travels, girls.

    • We said hello to UB for you :-)

  5. two sleeps and then i’m on you, girl… as we say in the midwest… “on you, like a duck on a june bug”. can’t wait!

  6. How exciting! Have fun, take care. X

  7. Oh wow. I’m so excited for you. Have a great holiday !!

  8. Have a good time!

  9. I would suggest you probably shouldn’t walk the streets of New York in your underwear as it might be taken the wrong way.

  10. Hope you have a blast! I know you will. :)

  11. You’ll be royally missed!

  12. Sniff…

    The King

    • I’m taking photos for you two…..

  13. Have a great time. And next time, visit the west coast!

  14. New York? Chicago? Tip- Stay in your room the whole time. That way you will have had a safe vacation. Or if your are brave(stupid) get down in the Asian or European ethnic sections of each city. (Italian, Irish, Polish, Chinese, UFO’s). A razzle of dazzles and food and action.

  15. Chicago’s fabulous. Don’t miss Anish Kapoor’s sculpture Cloud Gate (in Grant Park). Go to the beach (yes, lots of beaches in Chicago!). Have a trip on the Loop. Visit the Art Institute of Chicago. Sorry, can’t recommend any good underwear shops….

  16. I’ve never been, but have a fab time and I look forward to your postcards!
    Sx

  17. Jaw-droppingly exciting!

Please sing that song about Chicago from Blues Brothers soundtrack when you get to Chicago.

I know it’s rude but can you have sex with both Alonewithcatsand Daisyfae for me? Preferably together?

    Chuckle chuckle x

    • but you must promise to join us next time, mitzi!

    • Bless you, Mitzi. I were wish I were a fraction as desirable in real life as this comment makes me out to be.

(Let me know your schedule when you get a chance, Nursie.)

      • Be seeing you Friday I hope!

  18. oh boy, will it be hot in chicago.

  19. Have I mentioned that I’m a seasoned photographer? That I know how to work a timer setting? Okay, just so you know. As I said over at daisy’s place, I’ll see you two vixens on Monday.

  20. The weather in Chicago today is lovely (direct from my boy!). You MUST have cocktails at the top of the John Hancock building, fondue at Geja’s and breakfast at Nookies in the Old Town. Go see the submarine in the Museum of Science, and do NOT miss Seurat’s A Sunday on La Grande Jatte at The Art Institute. It is the nicest city in the US and never mind what Carl D’Agostino says: VERY safe!

  21. Have a great trip. Don’t forget your underwear.

  22. Yay! Fun! I can’t wait! Safe trip! I have my bus revved and waiting.

    • See you Saturday!!

  23. Have fun, Nursemyra! I’ve never been to Chicago proper, so I have no advice. But I’ve heard tell that it is just wonderful. And you will have wonderful tour guides to take you the “right places” in NY! I’ll be thinking of you both…

  24. Have a great trip and, whatever else you do, avoid everyone employed by Rupert Murdoch!

  25. Bon voyage, darling daughter!

  26. Have a lovely time and keep safe!

  27. Happy travels! I’m sure your keen eye will find much to entertain.

  28. In Chicago, go to Pilson and enjoy the Mexican Fine Arts museum….and spend an evening at Buddy Guys Legends for blues and pretty good food too.

  29. Have a great trip dear!!! Journey mercy!

  30. Hey. I’m In Queens. If you want any good restaurant recs let me know.

  31. Have fun…and tell me where I should have gone!

  32. Have a safe, fabulous, fantastic trip!

  34. I hope you are having a fantabulous time, and next trip you better plan on TEXAS.

  36. I will be emotionally shattered if not. I’m just a train ride away. :)

  37. After New York etc., there is always Broughty Ferry!!!!!!!!!

  38. Denny hasn’t been able to stand up for the last 11 minutes.

  39. When ya hit Chicago hook a left and swing down to Houston……………I’ll make pasta.

    • Sorry we missed you jimmy. It was a fleeting four days

  40. As a frequent lurker on your site & a big fan — WELCOME to the MIDWEST!!
I live just west of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but visit Chicago frequently.
Impossible to list all the things to do there, but stick with Michigan Avenue with Navy pier on the north end & the Aquarium/ Field Museum on the south.
Of all the attractions, my favorite is the Art Institute. Hint: don’t be lulled into looking at all the paintings for a day. Go downstairs & see the amazing furniture and cultural exhibits. As for eateries, you can’t really go wrong, but have your host bring you to a “Chicago Dog” specialist. Lotsa fun. (No. Not like what that means in China!).
Hope you’re not roasting in the heat, too! Cheers

    • Thanks for all the suggestions Steeeevo. I did get to Navy Pier, loved the architectural tour on the river boat

  41. Have fun and be safe in NYC! I loathe the place, but some people like it.

In Chicago, have some deep dish pizza, go to the Field Museum of Natural History, the Shedd Aquarium, the Adler Planetarium, the Museum of Science and Industry (they have a captured German U-boat you can tour, and then you can watch “Das Boot” and get really creeped out because you KNOW what it’s like on a U-boat), see the Art Institute of Chicago (they have the BEST armor and sword collection) and for a laugh, see the Peace Museum (snicker).

    • We did the German U-Boat tour… very claustrophobic but worth it

  42. Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for visiting/commenting on my blog. hope you are having a great time on your vacation. nice corsets though I wouldn’t be caught dead in one. they don’t make them for tiny boobs and I would look very silly.

  43. New York sure sounds like the place to be, N.M.! :)
